Rachel Menconi has been performing for 20+ years. She has 15+ yrs of Bel Canto vocal training, 12+ yrs of musical theatre training, and 9+ yrs of acting training (Theater/Camera). Ms. Menconi has starred in 40+ musicals, 20+ Off-Broadway cabarets, has directed, produced, written, and starred in one woman shows, two women shows, and touring music revues (NYC/NJ). She is a proud BMI member and has 10+ years of song writing experience.
Rachel originated the role of Antigone in Oedipus: the musical (Tri-becca Studios/NYC) and is the President/Founder of both Sunshine Face Productions and Sunshine Face music publishing. Rachel has also worked and performed with many people in the business including Grammy Award Winners/Nominees, Tony Award Winners/Nominees, and Emmy Award Winners/Nominees. She has had many wonderful experiences singing to sold out crowds and has been honored with many standing ovations.
Rachel Menconi has been teaching both voice & acting to children, teens, & to adults for 7+ yrs. She first taught voice and acting at a musical theatre school from 2002-2004. In 2005, she opened her home voice and acting studio. She currently teaches 20+ private students, teaches 3 different group classes, and offers many workshops periodically. She is looking to open a studio in NYC as well.
Working with a group of students (small by design), Rachel is able to focus on each student's individual needs and develop their skills (singing, acting, and performance) at a comfortable pace. She challenges each person without intimidation. Rachel is a voice, acting, performance technique teacher, NOT a pianist or vocal coach. A voice teacher teaches technique and a vocal coach plays piano well and doesn't teach technique. A selective group of students will perform in a tailored performance to showcase the entire cast's best talents. Past shows have been performed in NYC and NJ venues.
